Fasting & Prayer Ministry
Fasting and prayer are more than spiritual practices, they are powerful tools God uses to set people free. At Glohrey Addiction Recovery, our ministry is designed to help men and women encounter His presence, overcome addiction, and be renewed in body, mind, and spirit.
With encouragement, accountability, and teaching rooted in Scripture, we walk with you as you step into a new life of freedom and purpose in Christ.
Freedom Through Biblical Disciplines
At Glohrey Addiction Recovery, we believe the greatest breakthroughs happen when we draw near to God through fasting and prayer. This ministry is not a rigid program, it’s a journey of surrender, renewal, and freedom in Christ.
Our gatherings provide encouragement, accountability, and teaching that help you walk step by step into deeper intimacy with God.
Weekly Prayer Meetings
Every Wednesday, we come together for a time of prayer, worship, and encouragement. These gatherings are the heartbeat of our ministry—a place to unite in faith, lift each other up, and seek God’s presence together.
- Scripture-Centered – Every meeting is grounded in God’s Word.
- Prayer-Focused – We intercede for one another, for freedom from addiction, and for strength to stay the course.
- Community Support – No one walks this road alone. You’ll find compassion, grace, and accountability.
Our Wednesday meetings are also the time when we fast together as a group. By aligning our fasting days with our prayer gatherings, we create a shared rhythm of seeking God, encouraging one another, and pressing in for breakthrough as a community.
The Fasting Pathway
Fasting can feel intimidating at first, but you don’t have to do it all at once. At Glohrey Addiction Recovery, we encourage a gradual pathway that allows your body and spirit to adjust while you build confidence in Christ’s strength.
- Month One – One-Day Fast
Begin with intermittent fasting building up to a one-day fast, focusing on Scripture, prayer, and trusting God’s provision. - Month Two – Two-Day Fast
As you grow stronger, we invite you to extend your fast to two days, pressing deeper into God’s presence and relying more fully on Him. - Month Three – Three-Day Fast
Enter a three-day fast, preparing your heart for deeper breakthrough and renewal, followed by an opportunity to receive deliverance ministry at its close. - Optional 4th Month – Seven Day Fast
Step into a seven-day fast—a sacred time of surrender and spiritual reset. This extended fast creates space for profound breakthrough, clarity, and renewal in every area of life.
This is not about legalism or rigid rules. Everyone moves at their own pace. The goal is simply to grow steadily in your ability to surrender to God through fasting and prayer.
Preparing for a Three Day Fast
Because extended fasting can be a challenge, we also offer a special class designed to help you prepare for a three-day fast.
In this class, we cover both the spiritual and practical aspects of fasting:
- How to approach the fast with the right heart posture
- Scriptures to meditate on during your fast
- Tips for hydration, rest, and staying centered on Christ
- How to end your fast safely and prayerfully
This class is not mandatory, it’s simply an opportunity to build confidence and equip you with tools to succeed as you take this important step.
Why Fasting Matters in Recovery
Addiction often thrives in distraction and flesh-driven desires. Fasting breaks the cycle:
- Silences the Flesh – Teaches us to rely on God, not temporary relief.
- Breaks Strongholds – As Jesus said, “This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:21).
- Creates Clarity – Fasting clears the mind and makes space to hear God’s voice.
- Renews the Body – Physical discipline creates space for spiritual renewal.
When paired with prayer, fasting becomes one of the most powerful tools for transformation.

Faith-Rooted Foundation
This ministry is built on the Word of God and the practices He has given us. Fasting and prayer are not just disciplines—they are weapons of spiritual warfare.
- “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice… to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?” (Isaiah 58:6)
- “Return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” (Joel 2:12)
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
A Journey of Hope
This is not about perfection—it’s about progress. Fasting one day may feel like a big step, and that’s okay. Each time you press into God through prayer and fasting, you’ll discover His strength in new ways.
At Glohrey Addiction Recovery, we walk with you—not just through fasting, but through life’s ups and downs. Alongside spiritual support, we also provide gentle, holistic therapies that nurture the body during the fasting journey. Through infrared sauna, red light therapy, scalar energy, and Bible Vibroacoustic Therapy, we help calm the nervous system, promote detoxification, and create space for your spirit to rest and hear from God more clearly.
As you grow in fasting and prayer, you can also participate in our Healing Program—a hands-on journey combining holistic therapies, weekly prayer, and community support designed to strengthen your walk toward complete freedom.
